Job Title:  Quality Control Inspector II

FLSA Status:  Hourly

Reports to:  Quality Manager or Supervisor

Summary of Job:

This level of employment is intended to include the employee who is self-sufficient. This position is responsible for measuring and verification of parts produced by manufacturing operations.  This person is also responsible for the care, tracking, calibration and recording of activities related to all measuring equipment. Other assorted responsibilities include general shopkeeping, preventive maintenance programs, contributing to the effectiveness of the quality program, and other duties as assigned.

Key Results & Duties:

General Shopkeeping

  • Demonstrates basic cleanliness skills. Keeps QC room and areas clean.
  • Shows cooperation in overall shop housekeeping.

Technical Knowledge

  • Must possess the ability to operate measuring instruments and perform calibration activities.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints, purchase orders and specific customer requirements.
  • Should have some ability to operate the CMM with existing parts.
  • Must be able to work in tolerances of 0”.

Quality System Procedures

Must understand complete ISO quality program and what it is trying to achieve. Must be able to comprehend and effectively use all applicable forms and paperwork.  Should know where forms go when completed and what happens next in the paperwork process.

Administrative / Training / Safety

  • Participates in training classes and schools offered by the employer.
  • Uses appropriate safety gear.
  • This employee must work well as part of the team and be dedicated to the success of the whole team.
  • This employee will assist management in training production employees on proper use of measuring and test equipment.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience working in a machine shop environment required.
  • Familiar with CMM, GD&T and all hand tools associated with quality control.
  • Familiarity with military standards and specifications of aerospace industry is a plus.
  • Must have good computer skills.
  • Must have excellent people skills and have advanced communication skills.
